The Spanish conquest of the Inca Empire, also known as the Conquest of Peru, was one of the most important campaigns of the Spanish colonization of the Americas. Fought from 1532 to 1572 between the Spanish Empire, together with allied Indian groups including the Canari, Huancas, Chankas and Chachapoyas, and the Inca Empire and its successor the Neo-Inca State, the conquest ended in a Spanish victory.
